UCF students can also apply for the Homeless Waiver if eligible and enrolled.

If you are currently experiencing housing insecurity, you could be eligible for a tuition waiver. Note: Eligibility committees only meet at the beginning and end of each semester.

Community Resources

Coalition for the Homeless of Central Florida

Offers low-barrier emergency shelter, meals, and housing-focused services to help individuals and families return to stable, permanent homes as quickly as possible.

Covenant House Florida – Orlando

Provides free, judgment-free support and respite for youth aged 18–24 experiencing homelessness or housing instability.

Orange County Emergency Shelters

Coordinates emergency shelters, including special needs accommodations, during hurricanes and other disasters; residents can call 311 for information.

Orlando Housing Authority

Administers affordable housing programs, including public housing and Section 8 vouchers, for low-income individuals, families, and seniors in Orlando.

SALT Outreach Inc.

Operates mobile drop-in centers offering showers, laundry, clothing, and case management to unsheltered individuals in Central Florida.

Salvation Army Women’s and Children Shelter – Orlando

Also known as the Sally House, this shelter provides emergency housing for women and children in need.

Catholic Charities of Central Florida

Offers affordable housing options for individuals, families, and seniors who might otherwise be unable to afford it.

United Way 211

A free, 24/7 helpline connecting Central Florida residents to local resources for housing, food, financial assistance, and more.
